High cost-performance products with excellent performance: Hikvision E200P SSD review

For the Hikvision brand, most consumers are still impressed by a monitoring giant, knowing that it is a company specializing in the monitoring industry, and has become the world leader in the monitoring industry. Few people seem to know that Hikvision is also in the storage industry. However, for DIY enthusiasts, Hikvision's SSD is no longer unfamiliar, and Hikvision SSD, which is constantly providing new cost-effective products, has undoubtedly become a real fragrance product in the eyes of enthusiasts, and can even be said to be the civilian Ferrari.

Now Hikvision has launched E200P SSD again. Different from other products, Hikvision E200P SSD uses Hikvision's main controller and specially customized NAND flash memory, and is positioned at the high-end consumer groups. So what is the actual performance of this product?

surface

Hikvision uses a translucent black matte shell, and the outside is a Hikvision LOGO, full of time sense, and the shell also uses a semi-hollow design.

If you see the Hikvision E200P SSD in good light, you can see the PCB components inside and have a unique flavor compared to other SSD's that wrap yourself up. Hikvision E200P SSD is fixed with four screws, so it is very convenient to disassemble. Hikvision E200P SSD adopts full-size SSD, which does not shrink in PCB. The overall layout of this PCB is similar to Hikvision's enterprise-level products, indicating Hikvision's positioning of this SSD.

On the SSD's most important chip, the Hikvision E200P SSD uses the HKS10201B, a product independently developed by Hikvision, which is clearly a powerful brain. The DRAM cache, from Samsung, uses a single 256MB DDR3-1866 particle for a total of 512MB.

In terms of NAND flash memory, Hikvision E200P SSD uses NAND, number UNN0TTE1B1DEB1, also specially customized, single 128GB, the official said P / E can reach 1500 times, which means the SSD is 768TB, the average fault-free time of 1.5 million hours.

In order to ensure the stability of data transmission, Hikvision E200P SSD uses enterprise power protection capacitor. The main role of power protection capacitor is to ensure that the SSD has enough power to write temporary data in vulnerable cache (such as DRAM) to the NAND, so as to ensure the integrity of user data. For its components, the Hikvision E200P SSD uses six Panasonic tantalum capacitors, all with a capacity of 47 micromethods.

The large-scale use of power protection capacitor on SSD is mainly for enterprise users. After all, compared with consumer products, enterprise users pay more attention to the importance of data, while Hikvision E200P SSD adopts luxury drop point protection capacitor, which clearly reflects the importance of Hikvision to data protection. Although it is a consumer SSD, its quality is already comparable to Hikvision's enterprise SSD.

Performance performance

From the appearance, Hikvision E200P SSD has a low-key context, so what is the performance of the independent master control and Unigroup NAND products? We used several commonly used hard disk test software to test the performance of the Hikvision E200P SSD.

Before we test, we will first need to update the firmware of Hikvision E200P SSD. We use the firmware writing tool of Hikvision Smart Memory. It should be noted that the Hikvision E200P SSD firmware can only be detected by opening the software through administrator mode. Upgrading the firmware is fast and can be done in about a couple of seconds.

We first used CrystalDiskMark to test the 1GB amount of data. The sequential read and write rates of Hikvision E200P SSD were 552MB / S and 467MB / S, and the read speed almost reached the upper limit of 600MB / s.

AS SSD BenchMark The performance is poor, Hikvision E200P SSD sequential reading and writing also reached 500MB / S and 400MB / S above.

TxBENCH Under the test, Hikvision E200P SSD can also read 550MB / S and write 466MB / S, which is almost the due performance of SATA SSD.

Through the FastCopy file copy test, the application speed of Hikvision E200P SSD can also reach 420MB / S, which can meet the needs of ordinary consumers.

Like other SSDs with SLC Cache as a partial cache, Hikvision E200P SSD also carries SLC Cache. Through HDTune tests, the size of the SLC Cache is around 15GB, and the speed has weakened, but also around 400MB / S.

The temperature of the Hikvision E200P SSD was tested using the AIDA 64, and after the 100GB of data was replicated, the SSD was at 46 degrees Celsius, completely within the acceptable range.

Summary: with enterprise quality of consumer products

Through testing, we found that for ordinary consumers, Hikvision E200P SSD can fully meet the daily application, and the performance is very good, almost reaching the limit of SATA 3 interface. This may not be insignificant for foreign manufacturers, but it is a big step for domestic SSD. More importantly, Hikvision E200P SSD adopts high-performance power protection capacitor and professional level power protection scheme. That is to say, the quality of this product is close to high-end enterprise level, which is enough to reflect Hikvision's sincerity for ordinary consumers.
